With over seventy years combined hunting and outdoors experience between Tom and his associates, you will be assured that your next hunting adventure or outdoors trip will be one that you will remember forever. |
|
Tom Royston - Rifle & Adventure Specialist
|
Tom Royston has been a hunter all of his life, and has hunted around the world. After retiring in 2004 from a career of over twenty years with a fortune 500 company (AFLAC), he finally has the time to share his passion and experience for hunting and the outdoors with others.
|
He created Tom Royston Safari Adventures and now he brings a wealth of business and professionalism to hunting that is seldom found in the outdoors industry today. His hunting career has taken him from North America, to Africa and beyond. He has harvested Species from numerous continents.
His wife Boots joins him on most safaris, and has allowed him to also see their hunting adventures through the eyes of a non-hunter. By hunting alongside Tom daily, she has always been there to give him the thumbs up or down as to accommodations, food, and all of the "touristy" stuff the non-hunters would like to experience while joining their spouses on their adventures.
Tom's family values and hunting interest are continually taught while working with his thirteen grandchildren. He spends time with them while teaching hunter's safety, and by sharing his love for the outdoors, will help to continue the strong hunting heritage that he so wants to pass on. It is these morals and strong family values that you will learn to trust when working with Tom. |
|
|
As a bonus, Tom has surrounded himself with equally qualified individuals, who will help to create your "adventure of a lifetime." Be assured that Tom's team will go to all lengths to ensure that your every wish and needs are met while on your next hunt or adventure... |

Larry J. Johns - Associate, Archery & Photo Specialist
Tom is proud to introduce Larry J. Johns to his staff of associates. Larry has a great love of the outdoors and its wildlife. He also has an ongoing commitment to help educate our youth in the importance of wildlife conservation, and the continuation of our hunting heritage. These qualities, along with years of hunting experience and his strong photography background, will add a huge wealth of information and knowledge to our staff.
|
Larry's history includes over thirty five years of big game hunting experience, a background in wildlife management, and years of involvement with wildlife organizations such as Safari Club International, FNAWS, The Mule Deer Foundation and DU, to mention only a few. He has developed Chapters of SCI, FNAWS, and the Mule Deer Foundation, while working as a contract specialist for each of them, and is now the President of the Sutter Buttes SCI Chapter located in Northern California.
His speciality is in archery, so Larry has traveled throughout the United States and Africa to hunt with his bow. He has collected most of the Plains game of Africa, along with over twenty species of North American big game. If archery is your passion, then Larry will be the one to help plan your next archery adventure. Remember, it takes an archer to know what an archer needs while planning an outdoor adventure that includes archery equipment.
Larry also offers over thirty five years of outdoor wildlife photography experience, giving him that edge you are looking for when planning your photo safari. He has been there and done it, so his knowledge of photography will help you to plan an adventure that most others only dream of experiencing. |

Well, we made it home and my big Bull Elk is being admired by all of my hunting and fishing buddies. I was 70 years old this year and my Elk is a big 6x6. Not a bad combination. Idaho is a beautiful state and what I really like... it has lots of Elk. Thanks for arranging our trip. Frances told me, she and Boots had lots of fun checking out the local antiques.

Chet my fishing friend from the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland had talked about going fishing in Alaska for over 20 years. You made it happen for him. I was grateful to be added to the agenda. We had a great fishing trip only with our fly rods for 5 days in the rivers around Kodiak Island. You and your staff did a wonderful job scheduling our flights and fishing charters.

Thanks for a great trip. This was our first hunt in Africa but will not be our last. I shot all of the animals I had on my list. Now I have made another list of animals I want to shoot so I need to go back to Wilton Valley. Thanks again for arranging a smooth trip with no delays in customs, which is not easy since we had rifles.

You and your staff are great. My son and daughter had a hunt of a lifetime, and cannot quit talking about it. We will never forget our elk hunting trip to Idaho. My 14 year old daughter shot her Bull with my 300 short mag winchester. The elk will score close to the 400 class.
My son shot his bull with my 30-6. The same gun my Dad and I used when we shot our first elk. His bull will be in the 340 class and is a non typical 9 by 12. You have made this father's dream come true. Thank you. You are the best.

We had a trip of a lifetime. Susan and I want to thank you for arranging our honeymoon trip at Zula Nyala Safaris in South Africa. We enjoyed our visit with Trever Shaw of Shaw Diamonds and owner of Zulu Nyala Safaris. Susan says buying her beautiful diamond was the highlight of the trip., but it is good to be home in Carson City. Again, thank you, Tom for arranging a great trip.

WOW, what a trip. As you know, I had never been to South Africa and was somewhat apprehensive. However, arriving in Johannesgurg and being met and quickly taken through customs by an Air2000 representative, I relaxed and just enjoyed the rest of the trip. My first night in South Africa was almost magical walking through the beautiful flowers and blooming trees. I can still see the charming cottage and almost smell the flowers at Zulu Country Manor Estate, with our hosts Trever and Bella Shaw.
I had so many "first time experiences" while I was ther, I quit counting. Our visit to the Phillausberg National Reserver was more than outstanding, when the herd of elephants passed in front of the vehicle. All the animals we saw will live in my photo album for my children and grandchildren to enjoy for many years to come. When are we going again? Thank you so much for making my trip so memorable!
